Place this unit on a counter, table, or desktop to boil and dechlorinate 3 quarts of tap water and keep it hot for coffee and tea, or warm for baby formula. A 360-degree swivel base ensures the spout is within reach from any direction. A handle makes moving the unit a snap. Operation is just as simple: unlock the hinged lid to fill, then close the lid and the pot boils and dechlorinates the water. (To reduce the chlorine level further, press the "reboil" button after water temperature drops to preselected level.)

After boiling, the water is cooled to 203 degrees, and the unit maintains it at that temperature automatically. Pressing the "140-degree" button cools water to baby-formula temperature. To obtain water, place a container under the spout, press the "unlock" button (which guards against accidental dispensing), and then the "dispense" button. A gauge, calibrated in liters, permits water-level monitoring. Clean the unit inside with a wet sponge, and wipe down its hard plastic exterior with a damp cloth. Every one to three months, depending on local water quality, the interior must be decalcified with citric acid or a descaling cleaner. --Fred Brack
